Nikolaos Koulocheris is the Deputy Managing Partner of Machas & Partners Law Firm and specializes in civil, commercial and labour law matters. He has extensive experience representing complex civil and commercial cases before Greek courts, and in OMED and ICC arbitrations.

Mr. Koulocheris has been involved in public procurements and PPP projects representing private companies, as well as in restructuring labour-relations matters as legal counsel to the Greek Public Entity “Manpower Employment Organisation” and several major Greek and international companies.

Mr. Koulocheris is an experienced and internationally trained litigator, and has handled high profile litigations with excellent results. He is admitted to practice before the first degree and appellate courts of Athens, and the Supreme Court of Greece.

Mr. Koulocheris has successfully acted for:

  • Greek Banks and Greek affiliates of international companies on complex labour matters
  • Major Greek companies advising them on restructuring their labour-relations 
  • Sophisticated real estate projects 
  • Greek retail companies in matters arising from cross-border agency and distributors agreements

Mr. Koulocheris studied law at the Law School of the University of Athens and holds an LL.M. Degree on corporate law from Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen - Germany. He is a member of the Hellenic Association of Labour Law and represented Greece at the International Labour Office in Geneva. Mr. Koulocheris was a member of the permanent European Committee of Experts on insolvency law matters based in Brussels and accredited expert at the International Labour Office for the structuring of the new legal framework on temporary employment contracts. He was also a member of the Committee that created the ERGHANI system in 2006-2007. In recent years, Mr. Koulocheris has been teaching labour law at an international prestigious private university in Greece, while he has also been appointed as liquidator of the Hellenic Foreign Trade Board (HEPO). He speaks Greek, English and German.
