We are delighted to share that our firm acted as a legal counsel and made a significant contribution to an important, and at the same time historic multi-level collaboration between the Greek State and the Church of Greece in the region of Schisto-Skaramaga that comes to support the development of the entire region of west Attica.

This landmark agreement between the Church of Greece and the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) for the exploitation of a property belonging to the Ecclesiastical Central Financial Service of the Church of Greece (EKYO) in the area indicates the Church’s willingness to make use of the real estate property that it possesses for the benefit of the Greek people.

The ”GREEN ΣΧISTO” project is designed as a ultra-modern and environmentally-friendly logistics center for the transportation and management of containers and other cargo, taking into account the great importance and the growing momentum at the port of Piraeus.

Machas & Partners had a decisive contribution to characterizing this project of strategic importance for the Greek public sector and our society in general. Maria Antoniadou, Managing Partner, successfully led the effort. Maria was valuably assisted by Partner Anastasios Virvilios, lead of our Administrative law team and Associate Evangelia Sgountzou, along with Senior Associate Ioannis Charalampopoulos and Associate Mary Achladianaki for corporate law matters.
